MK Blogger Network Christmas Party! #MKFiesta

I love Christmas party season!

Any excuse for some glittery silver eyeliner and I am there. #MKFiesta provided exactly that!

Back in the Summer I went to the very first Milton Keynes Blogger Network event, at The Swan in Salford. I loved the event – good food, good drink and the opportunity to meet fellow bloggers! When I knew we were having a Christmas party I knew I had to make sure I could go!

Once again the lovely Sophie from Sophie’s Suitcase organised the shindig, this time held at Revolucion de Cuba in the MK Theatre District. Having never been there before, I was doubly excited! It’s not difficult to work out the theme of Cuban Revs and between it’s decor, awesome live music and fabulous cocktails you definitely don’t feel like you’re in the middle of Milton Keynes!

On arrival to the little section of the restaurant set out for us we were greeted with a tasty glass of Prosecco which is always a welcome start to any event. It was a great mix of new faces and people I’d met earlier in the year. As I was driving, after I’d finished my Prosecco I moved onto virgin cocktails. revolucion de cuba

It was happy hour and thus 2 for 1! The virgin cocktails are only £3.50 which compared to some places is really reasonable. They were extremely tasty too!

The food

As it was my first time here I was really looking forward to trying the food. As it was a Christmas party we got a buffet laid on for us. It was a really nice set up with the buffet just in front of our little area.

From zesty rice to beef brisket chilli and cajun cream mushrooms there was a bit of something for everyone. Everything I tried was delicious and perfectly cooked. I’m no calamari or wings fan but those that tried them loved them.

As it was a self serve buffet my plate did not look appetising (I’d just piled everything high) so there were no pics of what I ate! I’ll definitely be going back here soon though for a proper meal, maybe I’ll do a follow up review?

Once again, Sophie (and those who helped organise) did a great job getting us some treats!

The goodies

mk food revolution

I’d seen that Maaya had opened up in the Hub and had been meaning to try it – now I have no excuse! I’ll be taking Ed for a cheeky lunch in the New Year. I’m very intrigued by the Floatation.Life voucher. As I’m not great at relaxing or doing nothing the thought of laying in a tank of water for an hour is… interesting!

mitchell and ness

Obviously Ed has nicked the Mitchell & Ness hat already! It’s so lovely and thick I may steal it back on super cold days! I’d never heard of this brand but they’ve got some pretty cool clothing. I haven’t tried the Crunch Corn yet – think I’ll be taking it to work for a mid afternoon snack. It’s far easier to shove in my bag than a proper bag of popcorn!

mr & mrs fitz

I love garlic and I was excited to see this mustard from Mr & Mrs Fitz! Also, the ale in it is from the Concrete Cow Brewery who make some of my favourite beer. I’ve already tried this on a bacon sandwich and it was delicious. I can’t wait to try it on some steak next.

mk biergarten

Speaking of beer and a cheeky bottle courtesy of the MK Biergarten. This is a great little shop in Wolverton, perfect for picking up your favourite beer or finding some new loves. I haven’t tried this yet but it’s chilling in the fridge ready!

lush hand cream

I don’t go into Lush enough, so to get a nice treat from there was a lovely bonus! This hand cream has a lovely delicate scent (very unlike Lush) and sinks nicely into my skin. It does seem to leave a little oily residue though. It does make my hands feel amazingly soft though so I’ll definitely be using it daily!

#MKFiesta

Once again it was a great event to go to. It’s so nice to catch up with fellow bloggers and I always leave events like this super keen to sit down and get frantically blogging. There’s just something about events like this that really recover my blogging mojo. If you’re new to blogging, or have just never been to a local event before, I highly recommend it! Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram @lethbridgecards for updates on some of the above freebies and others I didn’t even get chance to mention! polkadotparadiso
