Cute, Simple & Adaptable Male Birthday Cards
I think I’ve finally found my groove when it comes to male cards.
I spent so long getting frustrated with making these kinds of cards. Then I realised that they don’t have to be overly complicated to be nice. Once I started going for simplicity, I found I was much happier with the cards I was making.
Today I’m going to share with you a couple that I made with my grandads in mind. I know I can adapt what I put on them though to make them suitable for any male.
Simple and neutral card
After laying some neutral paper on top of buff coloured cardstock I cut out the shapes using my Silhouette. To make these shapes you can either design them yourself, purchase them from the Silhouette store or find free vectors online. If I just want a simple shape like the above, between Google and Pinterest I can usually find a simple free vector. Then I just open the shape in Silhouette and trace around it to get a cut file I can use.
I then just added the words stickers and the enamel dot to finish off the card. I quite like mix of text/sticker styles here and think it works.
Jazzing it up
Using the same materials as above, just picking out different base colours I made the same card, but a little funkier. I love this retro looking paper that I’ve used at the back.
This kind of style is super adaptable. You can do more age relevant clothing for younger people, or scrap clothes altogether and do their hobbies. My dad may just get something like this but with footballs and beer on!
