First Christmas Cards of the Season

Sorry but it’s time to start talking Christmas!

I got time to do some crafting recently and took it as a perfect opportunity to make a start on this year’s Christmas Cards. I’ve really liked some of the Christmas Cards I’ve made before and so I took a tried and tested design, and added a little something extra. The presents portion is the recycled part as I love the simplicity of the squares with the added 3D bows. The bows are made from Vivi Glade Film, using a cut file from Silhouette Studio. The presents are made from paper from one of my favourite brands, My Mind’s Eye.

To give the card a little extra something I got heat embosser out and some silver powder.

I used a splodges stamp that I picked up ages ago and never got around to using. I thought they were a little too subtle on this card, so for the next one I added some more.

It looks much better with a bit more silver and while splodges aren’t a particularly festive shape, I like it. If I can dig out a snowflake stamp in my stash I might give this card another whirl with that as the background.

The ‘Merry Christmas’ stamp I found in my stash. That and the matching red border finish off these cards very nicely.

Have you started making your Christmas Cards yet? I might need to get surfing Pinterest for inspiration for my next batch as I’m out of ideas!
