I’ve been stocking up on birthday cards again, not wanting to be caught short anytime soon and thought I’d show you what I’ve been making.

I usually avoid making male cards until I really have to but this time I actually made an effort to make some in advance!

Balloons card

I still can’t get enough of papers from My Minds Eye – they really are the first port of call in any card I make. The papers used here are from the ‘Now & Then’ range. The stickers letters used for the happy birthday are from the same range too. The string of the balloon is hand drawn, I’m not a massive fan of how that turned out because the cardstock is textured so it didn’t take to the pen too well. I like the idea of this though and will probably try it again soon.

Butterfly card

This card is actually a spin on one of the first cards I ever made when I got back into cardmaking about four years ago now. Yes this is more My Mind Eyes papers! The stamp is one of my favourites – Scripty Sayings by Lawn Fawn. I feel like it’s missing something though, maybe a bit of the cream cardstock showing round the outside, as a bit of a border?
