Pyunkang Yul Moisture Ampoule Review

I recently picked up a couple of products from Pyunkang Yul, as I’d never tried the brand before.

I picked up the Ampoule as I needed a new one, and the Mist Toner because I can’t ever resist a mist (that rhyme was unintentional).

I’d been without an ampoule for a while after using up the Urang one I’d been using. I’ve got fairly well hydrated skin but using actives every day and physical exfoliants once a week I like to use an ampoule regularly to prevent any damage to my moisture barrier.

In terms of pricing, it’s cheaper than the Urang, coming in at £22 from UK stockists.

You also get 100ml versus the 35ml in the Urang.

The bottle is a hefty glass bottle and I like the recycled style labels.

The thing that lets this down this is the awful pipette. It doesn’t work at all. In order to use this I have to discard the pipette completely and try to get it out of the bottle like I’m trying to get ketchup out of a bottle.

Once you finally manage to get the product out of the bottle, then comes the application.

Unfortunately, this is a bit of a pain too. This is the stickiest product I’ve ever used. It’s also really thick.

Smearing this all over my face is kind of tricky. It doesn’t smooth over the skin very well and applying moisturiser over the top is a bit weird. It kind of mixes with the ampoule and creates an odd texture on my skin.

Despite all the above, my face does respond well to this. Even when I’ve been trying some stronger actives and using this alongside them my skin has shown no signs of issues. There’s been not dryness or flaking at all. I’m really impressed.

After a good few months of usage, I’m probably only a third of the way through this bottle.

In terms of value for money, this is great. I’ve enjoyed the results of this and my skin seems to like it. However, the texture of this is probably enough to put me off repurchasing it at the moment.

Once this bottle is over I’ll probably give a different ampoule a try. However, I wouldn’t rule out giving this another go at some point.
