Simple birthday card using your scrap stash
I love a good girlie birthday card.
Female birthday cards are so much nicer to make as you can go mad making it as girlie and pretty as you want. I definitely feel more comfortable making cards with lots of pink on! My birthday cards also tend to include butterflies and my latest ones are no exception. They’re also a great like idea to use up any scraps in your stash – if you’re anything like me and hoard all little bits of leftover paper cards like this are a dream to make.
The scrap papers used here are from a Mint Julet paper pad by Basic Grey and the butterflies are cut out on champagne laid paper from Hobbycraft – it’s a thin textured paper ideal for layering like this. The button and heart I also found in my stash and the wood dot is actually from the My Mind’s Eye Christmas range, Sleigh Bells Ring. Finally the sentiment is stamped using scripty sayings by Lawn Fawn – my new favourite stamp company.
I think this is my favourite of the two. It’s just so simple and cute.
I think I might set myself a monthly challenge to create a set of cards mainly using just my scrap drawer. Anybody want to join in? Comment below!
